Industry Specialist to Address Data Centre Shortage with Significant Expansion Plans

- Sentrum Announces ‘New for 2008’ Operation in Surrey -

London, UK – 26th November 2007: Sentrum (www.sentrum.com), a specialist in data centre solutions, has today confirmed the acquisition of a new facility in Woking, Surrey.  Branded ‘Sentrum IV’, the 200,000 sq ft of newly developed technical space, and 60,000 sq ft of office and disaster recovery space, is located on a substantial site of approximately 12 acres.

The Sentrum concept was introduced to address the gap in the market for data centre facilities that can meet corporate requirements of less than 50,000 sq ft; which economies of scale dictate are too expensive to warrant a self-build solution.

“The concern at the lack of data centre space in the market overall is an accelerating business issue,” said Andy Ruhan, CEO of Sentrum.  “This is being driven by organisations looking to outsource the housing of their IT equipment in order to reduce internal IT burdens, which makes the Sentrum solution very compelling.”

Sentrum works to a business model that develops practical, cost-effective data centre solutions which are tailored to each client’s specific corporate requirements.  With flexible plant solutions being a key focus in the new facility, Sentrum IV is already generating a substantial level of interest from a number of multinational corporates and expectations are that it will be fully occupied well before the operational date of September 2008.

“The established approach that Sentrum takes means that complex and important data centre projects can be delivered to specific timeframes without compromising quality or testing procedures which is invaluable to our business,” said Iain Dodds, IT Facilities (UK) at Deutsche Bank.  “Their bespoke solutions are also a significant benefit as this enables us to remain in control of the way in which our data centre runs.  This is a factor that we consider is vitally important to all businesses when selecting a data centre operator.”

Franek Sodzawiczny, Development Director at Sentrum added: “Our data centre design approach is based on traditional engineering values, gained through the experience of creating, commissioning and running mission critical facilities.  The team is built solely on experienced data centre and property development professionals, which ensures that our clients have access to the highest level of industry expertise at all times and that we are able to deliver complex and robust solutions.”

As part of its ongoing commitment to delivering best practice data centre solutions, Sentrum has confirmed that the new ‘IV’ facility will:

-   provide each client with their own dedicated plant, located immediately outside their suite to ensure that equipment can be maintained without any intrusion and with minimal impact to the day to day running of the data suite
-   offer a truly customised solution, both in terms of space, power configuration and levels of resilience
-   enable clients to draw down space on an ‘as required’ basis, offering them full business flexibility at all times

“With an ongoing focus on making further technology improvements, I am confident that the business will continue to grow and am already looking forward to securing our next facility,” Ruhan concluded.
