Confirmit launches the world’s first engine for Concurrent Sampling

Major increase in efficiency and utilization rate expected for panel businesses worldwide

November 12, 2007: Confirmit, the world’s leading provider of software for Market Research (MR) and Enterprise Feedback Management (EFM), today announced the successful release of Confirmit 12 including the world’s first engine for concurrent sampling.

Integrated with Confirmit’s Panel Management software, Confirmit Community Panel, the new engine for Concurrent Sampling is expected to drive tremendous value worldwide. Both panel specific businesses and MR agencies that conduct panel operations in addition to other services, will realize significant gains in terms of greater efficiency for sample operators and increased panel utilization rates.

“If you compare the traditional method that panel businesses use to draw multiple samples with the new Concurrent Sampling engine in Confirmit Community Panel, it’s like comparing a mono tape recorder with a fully loaded surround sound entertainment system,” says Kjell Oksendal, VP of Marketing with Confirmit.

“The former method is a manual serial process requiring sample operators to use trial-and-error before getting the selections they needed across multiple sample jobs, while Concurrent Sampling automates the sample selection procedure treating all sample jobs equally and in a parallel fashion. The end result and motivation for the development of the Concurrent Sampling engine is that businesses can spend significantly less time on sample operations and achieve higher quality selections for each sample job while ensuring best use of hard-to-reach panelists,” explained Oksendal.

The NPD Group has already achieved great operational value and improved panel utilization rates with the Confirmit platform including Confirmit Community Panel.  “We are very excited about the release of Confirmit 12 and in particular, the launch of the Concurrent Sampling engine,” says Pamela Veraart, VP Panel Management and Operations, with the NPD Group. “We truly believe Concurrent Sampling, enabling us to improve data quality through the equitable distribution of scarce segments across all projects in the demand queue simultaneously, will be a tremendous win.  In addition to superior data quality, this dramatically reduces the cycle time to process sample pulls and the staff resources necessary to manage sample demand.”

The new version of Confirmit Community Panel also includes several new sampling methods. These new methods can be applied to individual sample jobs, including sampling based on expected completion rate per panelist, where the software will calculate the people needed for each job based on panelists’ historical participation data. This sampling method eliminates the need for manual calculations of the number of panelists needed.
