« Posted: October 08, 2007, 12:38:43 PM »

The market for mobile phones is getting highly competitive. New handsets are being developed by leading brands in the industry such as Motorola, LG, Nokia, Samsung and Sony Ericsson. Handsets such as Motorola V3x, Nokia 6630 and Sony Ericsson K608i have been appreciated for their user-friendly features as well as innovative designs. Moreover, leading network operators are offering some of the best mobile phone deals on many such sophisticated handsets. Anyone interested can browse through the Internet and easily avail of attractive mobile tariff plans and rental deals from Orange, 3 Mobile, T Mobile, O2, Vodafone and Virgin.

Intense competition among handset manufacturers and network operators to outdo each other has proved to be beneficial for end-consumers and mobile phone users. Their needs and requirements have been understood and mobile phones as well as mobile phone deals have been specially formulated after incorporation of the same.

The competition in mobile telephony sector has also boosted the profits for retailers of handsets and associated services. Moreover, collaborative agreements between retailers and service providers have become more common. Many of these agreements have resulted in an integration of different services related to mobiles. Availability of a number of mobile related services under one roof has reduced the tensions and worries of mobile phone users to a significant extent.

Many such retailing chains have grown in scope as well as operations and made their mark on the user psyche through carefully though out deals on pay as you go mobiles and contract mobile phones.

This competitive trend is expected to continue in the foreseeable future. Promising business in handsets is also expected, with the market for handsets showing signs of intense growth. Consumers and mobile users would want to download some of the best Java games, polyphonic ringtones, real tones, mp3 tones and mobile phone wallpapers; and they would feel the need for 3G enabled handsets to fully appreciate the different types of downloadable mobile content.

At present, new ways are being devised to acquaint more users to the different capabilities of many of the latest mobile phone handsets. Thus, the consumer demand is being stimulated for innovative handsets. It is expected that the market dynamics of demand and supply would become functional, which would provide handset manufacturers with a chance of catering to the needs of mobile phone users in this sector. The handset manufacturers, network providers and retailers would do well to prepare themselves for the intense competition that would be the norm in the business in mobile phones.
