The Centre has major projects in the areas of Embedded Systems & Real Time Systems, Cyber Security, Digital Broadband & Wireless Communication Systems, Power Electronics.
In order to participate and contribute to the development of Electronics and Information Technology in the country, we require talented personnel with an aptitude in design and development for appointment to the following posts.
Experience :
Proper weightage & preference will be given to candidates possessing relevant higher qualification and experience in Research and Development, particularly in the fields of analog and digital VLSI and FPGA Design, Analog and Digital ASIC IP core development, Digital Signal Processing, FRID technologies, Device Driver and Firmware development for ARM and PowerPC processors, Image processing, Speech processing and Machine aided translation with expertise in Linux/Open Source, Java/C++/VC++, Power electronics applications in power quality improvement, AC motor drives, UPS systems, SMPS and related digital control systems, Design and Development of Embedded Systems(HW and Firmware) using DSPs or Microcontrollers, Familiarity with Development Tools, MATLAB, RTOS,HW Design using VHDL or CPLDs., Software development using CVI, Java, OpenGL, UML, Linux, QTdesigner, CVS, Implemenation of ISO 9000 standards in an Electronics R&D organization, Familiarity with CMS, SixSigma, Information security, Software Engg practices, forensics software tool development using Visual C++, knowledge of object oriented design, programming and rational unified process in visual C++, knowledge based systems, Neural Networks, Agent based s/w development, Data mining, SCADA Systems, Geographical Information System (GIS) for Power Distribution Automation, Real-time OS, Web server, Hardware Development in ARM, DSP, SCADA software, HMI components, ..NET, Delphi, J2EE, AJAX, real time systems, real time database, protocol stacks, network security, embedded software, Device driver development for Linux, Java based Web Technologies ( Struts, EJB etc. ), knowledge in SQL, PL/SQL development using Oracle, application development using open source databases, software design methodologies and tools, project management & implementation, client interaction, training, testing, healthcare and hospital based applications, human resource and payroll applications, knowledge management and data mining, software development in FOSS, mobile applications, Networking, Design and development of technology or products in the area of advanced digital radios particularly TETRA standard including - Protocol stacks, VoIP, FPGA, RTOS, Digital Signal Processing algorithm development using Matlab and Simulink, Algorithm optimization, Device Drivers, Embedded products using DSP/ARM and RF Subsystems.
Total No of posts : 60 ( Sixty only ). Number of vacancies indicated against each Category is provisional and may vary at the time of actual selection. The Centre reserves the right not to fill up all the posts, if it so desires.
Term of Appointment: The appointment is for a period of 5 years. There are possibilities of renewal based on satisfactory performance and need of the institution. The appointing authority has the discretion to terminate the Contract at any point of the tenure on unsatisfactory performance, disciplinary grounds or due to other institutional considerations and requirements.
Those candidates, who are already in employment under Central / State Government, Public Sector Undertakings or Autonomous Bodies, are required to produce a ‘No Objection Certificate’ from the employer concerned.
Emoluments: The above scales of pay are with allowances on the pattern of Central Government and carry benefits like CPF, Gratuity, LTC and Medical reimbursement. Other facilities and benefits as per C-DAC norms and as decided by the Centre.
Reservations and relaxations :
In accordance with the rules / instructions issued by Government of India for SC/ST/OBC candidates.
Selection: Initial screening will be based on age, qualification and experience specified in the advertisement. For the post of Staff Scientist, a written test will be conducted for further screening. Final selection of the short listed candidates shall be by interview.

(Rupees Two Hundred Fifty only) should be deposited into SB A/c No.30171547679 of C-DAC, Trivandrum at any branch of the State Bank of India and the original copy of the deposit slip should be attached alongwith the application on or before 24th August 2007 (5 30 PM) superscribing the envelope “Application for the post of Staff Scientist /Sr. Staff Scientist / Research Scientist.”.
Candidates applying for more than one post should submit separate Online Application and print copy for each post, along-with prescribed processing fee and copies of certificates and testimonials.
Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribe (ST) candidates are exempted from payment of Processing Fee. However, they are required to submit necessary proof on SC / ST status for considering their applications.
Application not in the prescribed format / without the requisite information asked for / without signature / without photograph / without copies of certificates including proof of experience and mark sheets will be strictly rejected. Applications received after the due date will NOT be considered.
Travelling expenses for attending Test / Interview are to be met by the candidates. However, bus fare will be reimbursed to SC/ST candidates whose place of residence as shown in the application is not directly connected with Thiruvananthapuram by Rail, or if they produce proof to the effect that they were denied free tickets by Railways for attending the above interview, II Class to and fro Train fare will be reimbursed to them on production of Railway Cash receipt/Ticket Number/Bus ticket etc.
