Gartner, Inc., a leading global independent IT research and advisory company, has released this year's list of Cool Vendors for Information Innovation and Governance, published April 29th. Kazoup, which offers an elegant yet powerful solution to managing masses of unstructured dark data, was recognised among only five technology providers in 2016.
According to Gartner's research, data is central to every decision, analytic and process in an organisation, yet chief data officers are struggling with information governance and innovation.
Gartner's report explains that "Organisations continue to struggle to govern their master data because the effort required to change existing practices is daunting and costly…There is a dearth of effective unstructured dark data management capabilities and a lack of appetite for expensive solutions. Organisations are looking for simplistic and need-based management of this older data.”
Johan Holder, co-founder of Kazoup, commented: "A Cool Vendor listing from Gartner is a tremendous credit to all the hard work of our team. Information governance is a critical component of the modern organisation. Being able to distinguish between data that adds value to the organisation and data that is useless, and combining this with intelligent migration to the cloud, is the key to success.
“The beauty of Kazoup lies in its simplicity. What would usually take you weeks of work or expensive consulting, can be achieved within 15 minutes of installing the software. It’s going to be an invaluable tool for IT managers and CIOs who need to demonstrate they have a plan to grow intelligently, instead of just throwing more storage at the problem. We’re in a relatively new market that is evolving rapidly, and we consider the recognition from Gartner a testament to that. We’re very proud to have been recognised.”
