Effectively managing, securing and processing healthcare information leads to improved patient care and highest levels of security and compliance

M-Files Corporation, a provider of solutions that dramatically improve how enterprises manage documents and other information, is exhibiting at the UK’s largest healthcare technology event, Healthcare Efficiency Through Technology (HETT) at stand H260.

The one-day Conference, taking place at Olympia in London, is a unique opportunity for industry suppliers to meet senior decision makers and budget holders from across NHS England, the Department of Health, NHS Trusts, Strategic Health Authorities and local and central Government.

Julian Cook, Director of UK Business at M-Files Corporation, stated: “This event will enable M-Files to showcase its flexible EIM platform for the NHS. Whether it is primary or secondary care - comprising GP surgeries, Clinical Commissioning Groups, and NHS Trusts - M-Files can address the complex information management needs and requirements for all types of healthcare organisations,”

“When patients interact with hospitals, practices and clinics, they have the expectation that they will receive the best care possible. They rarely give any thought to the processes behind the scenes in order to make this expectation a reality. Finance, Human Resources, Information Management and Technology, Estate Management, Payroll, Governance and Risk and Procurement, and much more have little to do directly with improving health or saving lives. Yet without optimised efficiency in back-office healthcare processes, patient service can be put at risk,” he added.

Julian Cook continued: “The Secretary of State for Health, Rt Hon Jeremy Hunt MP, wants the NHS to undergo a digital revolution by 2020. NHS England chief executive Simon Stevens in his recent report - NHS Five Year Forward View – also identified intelligent IT as a key factor in closing the £30bn funding gap facing the health service. When you consider the complexity of the UK healthcare system, and how interrelated departments are dependent upon efficient communication and access to much of the same information, it soon becomes apparent that there are great benefits to implementing an EIM system that will automate and optimise back-office processes.”

As a result the NHS is under increasing pressure to deliver better value. The Quality, Innovation, Productivity and Prevention (QIPP) programme, supported subsequently by the recent White Paper, Equity and excellence: Liberating the NHS, has targeted up to £20bn savings from within the health service. A significant proportion of this is expected to be met through the rationalisation of back office functions.

M-Files eliminates the content chaos inherent in many healthcare companies by providing an easy to use solution that enables users to quickly locate the exact content they need, regardless of which business application it resides in. M-Files enables enterprises to more effectively organise, manage, secure and process their information, which leads to better decisions, faster results, improved collaboration and the highest levels of security and compliance - all of which ultimately results in better patient care and service.

In addition to improving the efficiency of back-office processes such as managing staff and administrative records, M-Files has the capability to integrate with front office healthcare operations as well. For example, M-Files can be leveraged for managing electronic medical records and associated documentation, and to manage the workflow processes for processing this content. From a security and compliance standpoint, M-Files also ensures that strict document control and access permissions are enforced, and that all defined information management requirements are followed (and can be verified) according to regulatory mandates.

Schedule a time to meet with the M-Files team to learn more about our unique approach to information management that is radically simpler and more flexible - and ensures that the right people can quickly access the right content at the right time.
