Technology addresses viewer preferences in Brazil by replacing content locally in place of new satellite feeds

New York April 7, 2015 - Sundance Channel Global announced today that it has successfully regionalized its content in Brazil by utilizing Amagi’s technology. Amagi’s STORM regionalization platform was used to replace selective content on the network’s pan Latin America satellite feed with more localized and relevant content for Brazil.

“Brazil is an important growth market for Sundance Channel Global and we are deeply committed to airing programs that engage and excite our viewers. Using Amagi’s STORM platform, we have been able to meet viewer demands and now have an increased offering of locally relevant programming.” stated Dave Alworth, Vice President, Operations & Program Administration.

Amagi, the leader in cloud-based TV broadcast and content regionalization platforms has installed its enhanced satellite receiver STORM Lite IRD at the regional headend in Brazil. The device is capable of receiving a satellite feed, recognizing remote-insertion triggers and inserting regional content. Amagi’s content watermark-based workflow makes STORM Lite seamless for broadcasters to use and packs advanced features of replacing bugs, logo and other channel graphics with ease.

Baskar Subramanian, co-founder of Amagi explained, “The STORM platform deployment required no changes to existing broadcast and playout workflows for Sundance Channel Global. We are confident that audiences in Brazil will benefit from our solution deployment.”

Globally, Amagi regionalizes thousands of hours of content every year through its path-breaking content insertion platforms. The company has more than 4,000 installations across the globe. Recently, Amagi set up operations in the UK and also expanded into Japan.
