London, UK - 20 March 2012 - ChannelAdvisor, a global e-commerce platform provider that enables retailers to sell more across online channels, today announced a global partnership with LanguageWire, an enterprise-level provider of high quality human translation and translation management technologies. The partnership aims to accelerate the international expansion of ChannelAdvisor’s client-base through the delivery of translation and localisation solutions.

“This global partnership will enable ChannelAdvisor’s clients to expand internationally more quickly and with more confidence than ever before,” commented Henrik Lottrup, LanguageWire’s Founder and CEO. “IDC research reports that e-commerce sites that are presented in a local language are 400% more likely to convert visitors into customers, which means the global opportunity for retailers is immense.”

“We work with retailers to help them sell worldwide on e-commerce channels such as eBay, Amazon, Google and more, and we are continuing to help our customers expand internationally to take advantage of the global e-commerce opportunity,” commented Seamus Whittingham, ChannelAdvisor’s managing director, EMEA. “Partnering with companies such as LanguageWire makes this expansion a seamless development, and we’re looking forward to growing this partnership and working with LanguageWire to drive our customer’s ROI globally.”

“LanguageWire has a superb track record of delivering dynamic translation solutions to global brands,” said Christian Raben, ChannelAdvisor’s Head of Strategic Partnerships, EMEA. “LanguageWire will be able to help our large and small customers alike expand on a global scale and attract local customers.”

LanguageWire works with clients via API plug-ins to major e-commerce platforms, content management systems and product information management systems. The API solution enables clients to order, manage and publish translations from within their content and product management system or an e-commerce platform such as ChannelAdvisor. Mr Lottrup elaborated: “This automated approach eliminates the need for almost all project management tasks which gives our clients considerable savings on time-to-market, head-count and salary costs.” Human translators complete the translation and LanguageWire ‘pushes’ the translated XML content back into a client’s system, ready to be published online.

The cornerstone of LanguageWire’s innovative technology is AGITO, an online platform that fully automates workflow processes and connects 6,000 qualified translators to over 2,000 global clients including Nike, Pandora and Samsung. Speaking about the added flexibility the AGITO platform brings, Mr Lottrup said: “In addition to managing all aspects of an outsourced translation model, AGITO is also used by clients with in-house translation teams in order to increase productivity levels.”

“But translating product descriptions, automated emails and other front-end content does more than just increase top-line revenue. We have dozens of case studies that show us that by giving web users the ability to self-serve themselves with local content, e-commerce companies see a dramatic decline in customer support costs – so bottom line growth is also positively impacted,” concluded Mr Lottrup.

LanguageWire will be a gold sponsor at ChannelAdvisor’s Catalyst Europe, taking place on the 28-29 May at the Grange St. Paul’s Hotel. Visit www.channeladvisor.co.uk/catalyst for more details.
