•Landmark deal signals Myriad’s increasing strength in Android and expanding footprint in Asia

DUEBENDORF-ZURICH, Switzerland – 07 October 2010 - Myriad Group AG (SIX: MYRN), a global leader in mobile technology having shipped over 3.5 billion software applications on more than 2 billion phones, today announces it has been selected by Softbank Mobile (“SoftBank”), one of Japan’s leading mobile operators, to customize and deliver key solutions in support of SoftBank’s move to broaden its lineup of Android powered smartphones and services.

Under the agreement announced today, Myriad will develop SoftBank’s popular MMS service “S!Mail” for Android, to be made available via the “Android Marketplace” and in conjunction with SoftBank’s launch of the much anticipated Android 2.2 powered HTC Desire. S!Mail, a key feature of the SoftBank Mail application, enables users to send and receive text messages, pictures and movies worldwide. S!Mail can also be used for email messaging with PCs and non-SoftBank handsets.

Myriad’s arsenal of Android solutions includes everything from application components through to complete device integration. As a founding member of the Open Handset Alliance (OHA), Myriad has been playing a key role in Android solutions since its early days. Thanks to its Java technology expertise and unique experience in embedded software, Myriad provides operators and device manufacturers with an unrivalled portfolio for developing best in class Android-based mobile handsets and services.

In addition to offering leading Android solutions, Myriad also offers a complete range of mobile messaging clients, including SMS/EMS, MMS, IMPS and Mobile Email. All are market leading messaging clients which are rich in features, tested extensively and deployed globally. Each can be implemented separately, or as part of the complete Myriad client messaging solution including easily customizable MIDAS Lite-based Messaging UI.

“Our long-standing relationship, strong track record in messaging, and Android expertise are all key factors in our selection. We are pleased to have been chosen to support SoftBank’s launch and we look forward to this being a long and fruitful relationship,” said Gordon Tsang, SVP of Sales and General Manager of Asia, Myriad Group. “This is a real milestone for Myriad, as it marks our expanded footprint in Asia as well as continues to reinforce our leadership in messaging and Android solutions.”
