IE8 fix releasedMicrosoft today published the first fix for Internet Explorer 8. It is a minor non security issue. Consider the following scenario: On a computer that is running a 64-bit version of Windows Vista, Windows Internet Explorer 8 is installed. You clear the Enable access to this program check box for Internet Explorer in the Set Program Access and Computer Defaults settings. By doing this, you disable access to Internet Explorer. Note The Set Program Access and Computer Defaults icon is located in the Default Programs item in Control Panel. You log off from the computer, and then you log on to the computer by using a different user account. In this scenario, the Internet Explorer (No Add-ons) shortcut is still listed on the Start menu. Access to Internet Explorer 8 is not removed as expected. This issue does not occur in following operating systems: Windows XP Windows Server 2003 Windows Server 2008 Windows Vista, x86-based versions Start download KB969058 UPDATE: Microsoft just published a second one: Assume that you deploy an operating system by using an image-based installation method. However, the Image Delivery server that runs the 64-bit version of Windows Server 2008 or the 64-bit version of Windows Server 2003 stops delivering images. KB967760
