Reverse Lookup Investigative Site Nabs Cheaters

Rarely, if ever is private investigation work as glamorous as Thomas Magnum made it look sliding around Hawaii in a Ferrari 308. Much of it is a dull droning affair filled with repetitive searches, checklists and data entry. Still, some unusual niches have been carved out by enterprising PIs.
There are private companies that specialize in toxicology, fire investigations and even ladder accidents. But while most of us will never have occasion to utilize such expertise, everyone knows someone who has been involved in cheating, be it directly or the victim of the activity.
There are a number of investigative agencies specializing in infidelity sleuthing, as a quick web search for cheating spouse or infidelity will quickly prove. Many offer expensive package deals that may include records research, surveillance, and even quasi-entrapment. But learning the truth about your significant other is often something one can discover themselves--with a little help. Infidelity investigator James Lam says that in most cases all the information required to prove extracurricular activity is usually present before the PI ever shows up.
“Whether skip tracing or trying to discover a cheating spouse, the investigator obviously begins with the information the client already has. In the case of cheating, the ‘who’ and ‘when’ can usually be discovered by the suspected cheater communicating with their partner in crime,” Lam says.
And such communication is nearly always done via cell phone, according to Lam.
“It’s simple psychology. People are alone with their cell phones, in their cars, at lunch, wherever. Such isolation seems to make the cheater feel that they are somehow invisible. If your partner is having a serious affair, or even casual high-risk prostitute sex, unless they are absolute idiots they aren’t getting calls at home.”
Although Lam’s web-based reverse lookup service
http://cellular-trace.com primarily traces cell phones, the company also obtains name and address info on landline phone numbers. In either case, he says the majority of his clients are those suspicious of cheating.
“Over seventy percent of our customers are individuals worried about infidelity. We never ask the reason, but sometimes clients tell us. We gleaned the stat from the simple fact that that number of males or females request info on phone numbers that turn out to be owned by members of the same sex as the client, so it‘s pretty clear what‘s going on.”
And while suspicion proves nothing, if you’re in doubt, he says, you’re probably right.
“Statistics have shown many times over that in well over eighty percent of cases, those suspecting infidelity were right. There are some signs to look for, but if someone suspects their spouse is cheating, unless they suffer from paranoia, there is a reason for the doubt.”
