What Are RSS Feeds?

RSS stands for "Really Simple Syndication." It's a format thatweb sites and blogs can use to send updated headlines to you viaservices like My Yahoo!. My Yahoo! gathers the content youselect from a variety of sources and displays it for you in oneconvenient location. Syndication means you don't have to visiteach site individually to see what's new -- you simply scanheadlines or brief article summaries and click to read the fulltext. That's the "really simple" part. And it's "really simple"for publishers to make their content accessible this way too.

RSS is an easy way for you to keep updated automatically onwebsites you like. Instead of you having to go to websites tosee if they've written a new article or feature, you can use RSS(which stands for Really Simple Syndication) to get them to tellyou every time they have something new.

Different News Readers work on different operating systems, soyou will need to take this into account when you make yourchoice. The easiest way to have your RSS feeds sent to you is toopen a my Yahoo or a my MSN account . Then all you have to do isadd the content you want delivered to you.

There are a large number of different News Readers available.
