« Posted: January 29, 2008, 09:48:40 PM »

•   Macrovision, IBM, Microsoft, the European Software Association and SIIA amongst sponsors

(London, 29 January 2008) IT Europa has announced a strong line-up of speakers and sponsors for the European ISV Convention 2008 which will be staged in Frankfurt next week. The convention will bring together senior executives from many of Europe’s leading Independent Software Vendors to address some of the key issues impacting the development of the IT Industry in Europe.

The Convention conference sessions will address such issues as the challenges facing ISVs in Europe, Collaboration & Cooperation, Globalisation and the impact of software as a service (SaaS). A strong list of speakers includes:
•   Jeremy Roche - Chairman of the European Software Association - Chief Executive Officer, CODA Group
•   Eilert Hanoa - Vice Chairman of the European Software Association - CEO of Mamut ASA
•   Vincent Smyth – Regional Vice President EMEA, Macrovision
•   Melinda Matthews – Director of ISV Business EMEA, IBM
•   Bob Morris - Director, Microsoft Protocol Programs – Europe, Microsoft
•   Tim Barnsley – Advisory Board AAM – Managing Partner, Channel Dynamics
•   George Dziedzic – CEO, Foster MacCallum  International
•   John Chapman – Editorial Director, IT Europa

The increasing importance of ISVs in driving sales is reflected by the number of major organisations that are backing the European ISV Convention as sponsors. Sponsors include Macrovision, IBM, Microsoft, the European Software Association and SIIA (Software and Information Industry Association)

“The European ISV Convention provides a unique forum for CEOs and Directors of Europes leading ISVs to come together with leading Vendors and Solution and Service providers to discuss the key issues affecting the development of the European software applications market,” said Alan Norman, Managing Director of IT  Europa Ltd.  “Convention delegates can expect some strong presentations mixed with lively debate and the opportunity to meet sponsors and their peers in the software development community.”

The European ISV Convention 2008 will take place at the InterContinental Hotel, Frankfurt from 6 - 8 February 2008. ISVs wishing to attend the convention can find further information and register their interest at www.isvconvention.com. Attendance is by invitation only and is free of charge to qualifying delegates (including accommodation and attendance at the IT Excellence Awards Dinner – www.iteawards.com on 7 February 2008).
