Huawei Outline Vision on Global Telecommunication Market Trends at International Forum
Operators flock to Palermo, November 15th, for forum on mobile broadband network deployment and evolution
(Milan, Italy-13 November 2007): Huawei Technologies (“Huawei"), a leader in providing next generation telecommunications network solutions for operators around the world, today announced to lead a global forum with Telecom Italia at Villa Igiea in Palermo on 15th, November, 2007. The forum is devoted to discussing the deployment and evolution of Mobile Broadband Network
Prior to the forum, Huawei will unveil the agreement of establishing a Mobile Innovation Center in Turin in a technological partnership with Telecom Italia. During the workshop, Huawei will outline the capabilities of its UMTS/HSPA (High-Speed Packet Access) products and solutions which have been deployed by Telecom Italia across Italy.
The event, co-hosted by Huawei and the partnership of Telecom Italia, will be attended by the Chinese ambassador in Italy, His Excellency Dong Jinyi. Representatives from the key stakeholders from influential Italian institution and important Italian partners will be present, as will local government representatives. A leading company Fiat is expected to share their exciting experience and benefits brought by UMTS/HSPA network to their business.
Huawei announced in July 2007 that it was expanding and upgrading Telecom Italia’s HSDPA networks in Italy to further strengthen its market leadership in Europe.
During the event in Palermo, Huawei intends to demonstrate the scope of this HSPA network expansion and the potential it brings to provide an enhanced user experience for Telecom Italia customers. This collaboration underpins Huawei’s presence in Italy and is a milestone in its overall commitment to the European market.
