5 November 2007 – United Mobile, the international mobile communications provider, has appointed mobile communications expert Charles Fränkl as its new CEO. The move puts him in charge of all strategic and operational issues at the Swiss company.
Charles Fränkl joins United Mobile from his previous position as CEO at AOL Germany. In this role, he spearheaded the integration of AOL’s Internet service provider business into the HanseNet parent company Telecom/Italy - transforming AOL Germany into a global player. His new role heading up day-to-day operations will enable United Mobile primary shareholder and President Sven Donhuysen to focus on driving business development across the globe.
The Swiss industry expert has gained vast experience within the telecommunications industry and is an expert in IT, Internet and multimedia. Prior to his role at AOL Germany, Fränkl was global director technology development of Vodafone and CEO of the globally operating IT solutions provider Vodafone Information Systems. Fränkl was also a member of the executive board of E-Plus and director of data and multimedia products at Swisscom.
