Anchorage has been established as a Non-Profit Organization, with the aim to create advancements in the fields of Information Technology for Community Development and Access to Information Technology.
The aim of the program is to increase road safety awareness amongst school children between the ages 6-13. The program will utilize a variety of methods of education, ranging from class room education to live demonstration and participatory learning. The program will be conducted at schools in Bangalore during the following three years.
The activities in this project are as follows:
1.Animation Film: for children in the age group of 6-13years
2.Traffic Park: for children in the age group of 6-9years
3.Road Safety Interactive Course: for children in the age group of 10- 13years
4.Traffic Booth: for children in the age group of 6-13years
All the above activities will be carried out for one working week of every school i.e. 5 days. These activities will be fit into the regular time table of the school.
This programme will reach out to 20 schools in Bangalore in the first year and eventually span out into the Rural schools and schools outside Bangalore.
Job Description:
Assist the chief coordinator in the practical implementation of the project.
Setting up the pre designed traffic park in the school
Responsible for all the logistics and setting up/dismantling the locations for teaching activities, e.g. setting up a traffic park at schools, dissemination of educational material.
Manning the Traffic Booth and conducting the activities of the Traffic Booth
Taking part in teaching activities: Communicating with children about road safety within and between the teaching initiatives
Desired Profile
Experience in teaching children: formal or alternative education
Experience in project coordination and field work preferred.
Proficiency in both English and Kannada
Knowledge of computers is a must
Prior knowledge of traffic safety is an advantage
