The perfect formula to personal goal setting
Personal goal setting is one of the most important things you can do, in life. When you set goals you start to create direction in life. Personal goals setting allows you to get where you want to go faster than you would without setting goals. Here are my steps to personal goal setting.
Step # 1 - Set your goals for 10 years in the future
You need to set your personal goals with a basis of where you want to be 10 years from now. If you know where you want to be 10 years from now, then you will be able to set goals to get you there. This is where you need to start with your personal goal setting. Once you have your top goals for 10 years move onto step 2.
Step # 2 - Break your 10 year goals in half
Once you have your top 10 year goals set you need to break them down to 5 year goals. Since you know where you want to be in 10 years it should be a lot of easier to figure out where you have to be in 5 years in order to get to your 10 year goals. Once you have your 5 year goals set move onto step 3.
Step # 3 - Break your 5 year goals down to 1 year goals
You need goals that are closer in the future to keep you motivated. Break your 5 year goals down to 1 year and make sure that your 1 year goals will lead you to your 5 year goals. You will want to break your 5 year goals down again to 1 year goals once you reach the 1 year mark.
Step # 4 - Break your 1 year goals down to 6 month, 90 day, and 30 day goals
This is where you will start to set smaller goals that will eventually lead you to your major goals. You need to set goals that you can achieve and stick to. If you are able to make a habit of sticking to your short term goals, then you will be lead in the direction of your long term goals.
Step #5 - Break your 30 day goals down into weekly and daily goals
Personal goal setting has to create habits. If you ever want your personal goal setting to lead you to your long term goals you need to set weekly and daily goals. Every time you achieve a daily goal that lead to your weekly goals, you will be one step closer to your long term goals.
Use these steps in order to start your personal goal setting. Every time you achieve a small or large goals you will build a little more confidence and you will be closer to a better version of yourself. You will be happy you started your personal goal setting and you will be lead in the direction of your major goals.
