The Best Sales Copy
« Posted: October 25, 2007, 11:23:09 AM »

What is the best sales copy? .How do you write the best sales copy? .What should the best sale copy do for you? There are 3 major keys to writing the best sales copy, and if you remember them, apply them, and practise them, you'll be writing the best sales copy ever. What is the very first thing you see when you read an article, classified ad,or someone elses sales copy? Give up? Keep reading, and I'll tell you.

THE POWER OF HEADLINES: KEY 1. ALL good articles, classified ads,and sales copy, have this in common. "Attention Grabbing" or interesting headlines. Let me explain.Have you ever recieved an email message with "Last Chance" or "Act Now" in the subject box? Sure they get your attention, and some might even perk your interest, but they don't tell you a single thing. For example: "Last Chance" last chance for what?? In my experience, a good headline tells your reader, or potential customer, what the email, articles or sales copy is about,at the same time gets your attention and encourages you to read what they have to say. Not only should the headline tell you what the article ,ad,or sales copy is about, enourage you to read it,and perk your interest, but it should also get you to ask a question. Let us take my headline for example. "The Best Sales Copy" .First, does it tell you what this article is about? "YES", you know from the headline(title)that this article is about sales copy. .Second, does this headline make you ask a question? Again the answer is "YES", you should have asked a question like" What is the best sales copy" .Thirdly, does this headline perk your interest? Now if I've made you ask a question, then the answer is "YES",because now you want to know ,or see, what "the best sales copy" is. .Finally, did it encourage you to read the article? "Absolutely",if I succeeded in getting you to ask a question, thus perking your interest, then you've already opened the article,ad ,email ,or sales copy. Thus I've encouraged you to to read what I had to say, without really having to tell you to read it.That my friend, is the power of a good headline or title.

THE NEED AND THE BENEFIT:

Key 2. All good articles, and sales copy include these 2 elements. First-the need. What exactly IS the need? Well, depending on your product,or article the need can vary. It could be "getting targeted traffic"it could be "how to write good sales copy"or could also be "how to lose weight" Now that we know the need, lets discuss how to address it.When addressing the need of your potential customer or reader, not only should you state their need, you MUST make them see their need. Here is what I mean. Anyone can say "you need" more money, but you need to make them see "why" they need more money. Here's an example of making someone "see" their need. Picture this, you have 30 days left till Christmas, you don't have a lot of money left, and you sure don't feel like standing in line somewhere for hours on end, just to get those last few gift you need.

Now from the example above,do you "see" your need? Can you picture yourself having to get a few more gift, and running low on cash, how about standing in line somewhere just to get those gifts. That 's an example of making people "see" their need. Now that you've shown your potential customers or readers their need for your product or article, lets discuss the second element. The benifit of your product or article. Using the above "Christmas" example,I'm gonna show you the benefit. Need more gifts, low on cash and don't want to stand in line for hours, come visit us online at Novel Trinket Treasure. Choose from hudreds of unique gifts at very affordable prices, and do this, all from the comfort of your own home,no long lines just instant gratification knowing you got those last few gifts without spending a lot of money or wasting time in long lines.Do you see the benefits? Great gift, affordable gift, and efficient purchasing. Also remember this when you tell about your benefits. DO NOT lie, be honest about what your product or article will do.If you lie just to get sales, people will eventually figure it out,and when they do,it will come back to bite you. Remember word of mouth travels the fastest, all it take is one person to make or break your reputation.

THE UNWITTING SALE:

Key 3. What should your sales copy do for you? This is the most imortant key. The purpose of a good sales copy is the end result of the sale of your product or having your article read, without being obvious.Simply put, your sales copy must show your potential customers or readers their need for your product or article, and how your product or article will fill that need, all the while unwittngly closing the deal. If you follow the first 2 keys,by the time your potential customer or reader reach your "sales pitch" they will have already convinced themselves that your product, or article is what they have to have, or read. Here is where you will make your pitch.I highly suggest that you recap the need, and benefit of your product or article,in doing this, you are reminding your potential customer or reader why they read your sales copy in the first place. I also suggest giving them something free,an added bonus, or helpful information to thank them for their purchase or reading your article as well as help them. People love free stuff, this will also let them know how much you appreciate their business, they will also be more inclined to see what it is you have to offer the next time.

Lets recap. First, use a great headline to get the readers attention. Second, show them their need ,and the benefits of your product or article. Lastly, don't sell to your potential customers,or readers, talk to them, state again the benefits, of your product or article and give them the opportunity to purchase or subscibe. Offer them something free ,to thank them for their business.

Use these 3 keys to write the best sales copy ever.

I truly hope this article has helped you to better understand how to write better sales copy.I would also like to thank you for reading my article. Best Regards and Good Luck, Rob Herlein Own an Ezine or newsetter? Feel free to reprint this article, all I ask is that you keep my links
