1. Engineer-D: [1 post: UR; HQ Khodad]. Pay Scale: 10000-15200 [TME: 22300]. EQ: BE/BTech. MTech (pref). Exp: 6-8 (4-6 for MTech) years in digital/ hardware design/maintenance.
2. Engineer-B: [2 posts: 1UR, 1SC; HQ: Khodad]. Pay Scale: 7450-11500 [TME: 16500]. EQ: Fresh BE/ BTech (Electronics). Nature of job: Analog receiver development, optical fibre applications, telemetry, control electronics and software.

Bond to be executed before joining to serve NCRA for at least 3 years after successful completion of training. Successful training will lead to absorption, on probation, as Scientific Assistant in the Pay Scale 5500-9000. Age: Below 30 for ST, 25 for UR.
6. Technical Assistant-B [1UR; HQ: Khodad]. Pay Scale: 5500-9000 [TME: 12120]. EQ: Diploma in Power Electronics / Electronics. Exp.: 1-2 years in reputed organization carrying out electronic circuit trouble shooting. Age: Below 28 years.
7. Technical Assistant-B [1UR; HQ: Khodad]. Pay Scale: 5500-9000 [TME: 12120]. EQ: Diploma in Electrical Engg. Exp.: 1-2 years in HT/LT electrical installations and having supervisory license to operate 11 KV high voltage electrical equipment. Age: Below 28 years.

10. Tradesman-B [1OBC HQ: Pune]. Pay Scale: 3200-4900 [TME:7588]. EQ: ITI(Electrical), NCTVT & 'B' license for LT works issued by Govt. Maharashtra. Age: Below 28 years.
11. Tradesman-B [1UR; HQ: Khodad]. Pay Scale: 3200-4900 [TME: 7083]. EQ: ITI (Electrical)/ equivalent. Wireman License (B) Maharashtra PWD. Age: Below 25 years; can be relaxed for candidates with experience.
12. Clerk [1UR; HQ: Khodad]. Pay Scale: 3050-4590 [TME: 6780]. EQ: Graduate in any discipline with minimum 3 years experience in guesthouse/ canteen of an institute. The position calls for multitasking and high job flexibility at the observatory. Age: Below 25 years; appropriate age relaxation will be allowed in deserving cases.
13. Administrative Trainee: [1HQ: Pune]. Stipend: 6500. EQ: B.Com with Accountancy. Candidate should have exposure to computers with an aptitude for learning with initiative. Age: Below 25 years.
General: Candidates applying for posts reserved for OBC should attach a copy of caste certificate along with non-creamy layer certificate issued by the competent authority. Copies of all certificates should be duly attested. Candidates are liable to be transferred to other Centres/Field Stations of the Institute. Candidates applying for posts at Sr No. 1A&B, 2, 3 and all SC/ST candidates will be reimbursed 2nd class(non-ac) train fare. Age relaxation as per GOI rules applies to SC / ST / OBC / PH candidates applying for UR posts.
Applicants from Govt/autonomous bodies/PSUs should apply through proper channel. SC / ST candidates called for Interview will be paid TA as per rules of the Institute. The Institute reserves the right to restrict the number of candidates for interview, to a reasonable limit, on the basis of qualification and experience higher than the minimum prescribed above. Mere fulfilling the essential and desirable qualification will not entitle an applicant to be called for interview. Canvassing in any form will lead to disqualification.
TME: Total Monthly Emoluments, reflects Basic Pay+DP+DA (presently 41%) and HRA, payable at appropriate rates.
