Site Content With A Remote PHP Script
« Posted: September 26, 2007, 10:14:51 AM »

So you built your site, you have tons of new and popular products on your site, you generated tons of sitemaps for all of the search engines, you have some really good inbound links and your navigation paths are excellent. Wait my pages are not being picked up in the search engines?Huh

Ok here is the scoop, since you are pulling feeds which already exist on other sites, the new search engine algorithms will not allow that page to be indexed. I was disappointed at the turn of events and I was starting to think twice about this concept I have spent so much time developing.

Never fear there are ways to build sites with these types of feeds that will get indexed well! First come up with some original content for those who visit your site. The best way for me was to start a blog. Make sure the blog can convert your posts into RSS then get yourself a PHP script which can turn rss into html for use on your pages. Finally syndicate your original content thru out the site. Mostly on the page that has the remote execution script.

I'm not a writer how am I gonna be able to write enough original content to fill my site? It takes time and patience, while you develop you content use available and relevant feeds from all kinds of sources(CNN.com, BBC, Cnet). This should help your site, but totally original content works best. I am in the process now of updating my site-maps and also tweaking how I will display my feeds on the store integration I use.

This is how the SE's are trying to cut down on irrelevant and unethical practices thru out the web. Most unethical affiliates will not want to spend the time to generate and syndicate useful content on to their pages. But building useful and informative sites is what will keep affiliates alive in the marketplace.

So don't react like I did and just take it for what it is!
