Computacenter Awarded Seven Places on NPS IT Products and Services (ITPS) Framework Agreement for Wales

LONDON, UK, 18 February 2016 - Computacenter, Europe’s preferred IT provider to enable users and their businesses has been selected as a supplier on the NPS IT Products and Services (ITPS) framework agreement for Wales. The Framework which is live from January 2016 for an initial period of two years with an option for a further two-year extension. It will be the primary route to market for ICT products and services for 22 Councils, 11 Welsh Government and Sponsored Bodies, 10 Health Boards, 14 Further Education Colleges, nine Universities, four Police Forces and three Fire and Rescue Services.

The aim of the NPS ITPS Framework is to support Welsh public sector organisations with their ICT procurement. In particular the framework will help the Welsh public sector to reduce ICT costs and complexity and lead to better sourcing outcomes. It will also enable local authorities to meet the Welsh Government’s call for a more shared approach to ICT.

Computacenter have been awarded a place on seven lots of the NPS ITPS framework including:

Lot 1: Desktop Software and Associated Products and Service
Lot 4: End User Hardware and Associated Products and Services
Lot 5: Infrastructure Software and Associated Products and Services
Lot 6: Servers, Storage and Storage Devices and Associated Products and Services
Lot 7: Network Equipment and Associated Products and Services
Lot 8: Network Firewall and Associated Products and Services
Lot 12: Integrated Solutions
Chris Price, Director of Public Sector for Computacenter, believes that the NPS ITPS framework will enable a number of Welsh public sector organisations to get better value from their IT suppliers “The NPS ITPS Framework will make it easier and more cost effective for Welsh public sector organisations to source the technologies they need to deliver effective public services.”

Chris also adds “Computacenter’s success on the NPS ITPS framework shows we are making significant investments in Wales to help our Welsh public sector customers achieve their operational and strategic ICT goals.”

Since the inception of ITEAS in 2012, Computacenter have seen their public sector customer base in Wales grow from 18 to 42 customers. With the increase in customers and the NPS ITPS framework now in place Computacenter believes it can continue to help the Welsh public sector with its ICT procurement goals. The NPS ITPS Framework went live in January 2016 and is set to run until January 2018 with the option of a two-year extension at the end of this period.
