EBC Group Toolkit for M-Files enables partners and users to create, manage and maintain M-Files vaults
M-Files Corporation, a provider of solutions that dramatically improve how enterprises manage documents and other information, today announced the availability of the EBC Toolkit for M-Files, a set of utilities for making the implementation and maintenance of M-Files vaults easier and faster.
The Toolkit for M-Files, created by UK-based managed service provider EBC Group, is a set of utilities initially developed by EBC Group staff to support its consultants in M-Files implementations. The newly enhanced Toolkit for M-Files is now being licensed to both M-Files resellers and end-users as they in turn undertake similar projects.
For an M-Files partner, the Toolkit can provide additional support in the pre-sales process, demonstrating how a vault could be potentially structured and, from a consultancy perspective, how any changes to a vault could be implemented. Companies in highly regulated industries can also leverage it as a means to document and verify any changes to metadata structures and taxonomies, which can then be used to support auditing procedures.
The Toolkit currently contains two utilities, with more planned for the future.
The Documentation Generator extracts metadata from any M-Files vault automatically; users simply run the utility which will then generate a Microsoft Word document that contains the structure and configuration of Class Groups, Classes, Object Types, Property Definitions, Value Lists, Users and Groups, Workflows, Common Views, and much more.
The second utility is the Metadata Card Property Grouping Manager, which provides a simple, one-stop user interface to allow the creation and management of the JSON syntax, including saving it to the server. A simple, easy-to-use graphical interface, with drag and drop functionality enables users to specify which classes they wish to manage and create bespoke groupings.
