Perforce Software today announced that Develop Industry Excellence Awards finalistd3t Ltd., a software development consultancy specialising in games, apps and embedded systems, will standardise its software development on Perforce Helix. The company uses Helix to enable its designers, engineers and artists to work in parallel and collaborate more effectively on projects ranging from software to firmware, hardware and electronics.
d3t is nominated in the Creative Outsourcer category of the awards for its contributions to projects such as PS4™ conversions, XBOX® One rendering optimisations, Kinect® Gameplay prototyping and multiplayer PC game development and systems integration.
“Perforce’s versioning and collaboration engine is at the core of each project we work on, whether it’s a basic app or a major component of an AAA game,” said Jamie Campbell, co-founder and commercial director at d3t Ltd. “We work on multiple projects at a time, collaborating on large files and across multiple geographies. We couldn’t do that without a version control system that can scale without sacrificing performance.”
d3t started using Perforce Helix through the Perforce 20/20 Program, which offers all of the company’s products free of charge for up to 20 users and includes technical support.
“The growth of our business prompted us to seamlessly move from 20/20 to the unlimited version Perforce Helix. We think of Helix as the Swiss-army knife of source control solutions—something we know we can rely on regardless of the type and scale of the project. As our company grows, we need to ensure that our development tools and practices are secure, efficient and can handle whatever we throw at them,” said Campbell. “With Helix, we have future-proofed our version control system.”
