Global connectivity supplier HUBER+SUHNER is to focus on connecting the next generation with its ‘Fiber to Our Kids’ theme at the FTTH Conference in Warsaw, Poland, from 11-12 February. A broad portfolio of high end fiber management solutions, high quality fiber optical components and carrier grade transport solutions will be on display during the event and Dr Martin Strasser, HUBER+SUHNER’s product unit manager for Fiber Management Systems, will present the ‘Fiber to Our Kids’ concept in his presentation during the conference stream: “Deploy FTTH and Save Money” on 11 February.
As the demand for bandwidth in homes continues to grow exponentially, network operators increasingly face challenges in meeting the explosion of in-home demand.
“A decade ago, an average European household had one desktop computer and one TV. However, the unprecedented success of smartphones, internet TV and cloud services has forced the need for fiber in homes to a level never reached before,” explains Dr. Martin Strasser.
“For many years the global FTTH community has pushed the technology to create end-user demand, and now we see in-home data demand actually beginning to out-grow the data supply for the first time in our industry. We are shifting from a “technology push” towards an “end-user pull”. The data consumption of future generations will require more fiber and millions more fiber-in-the-home installations in the future.”
As an innovator for Fiber in the Home connectivity, HUBER+SUHNER is focusing its attention on the solutions that will connect the next generation, bringing Fiber to our Kids. The company’s extensive portfolio of products helps to enable operators to meet the demands of the future throughout the whole network from the central office to outside plant and through to Fiber in the Home (FITH).
HUBER+SUHNER tackles the challenges network operators face in coping with the explosion of in-home demand with three key approaches: "Grow dense. Think practical. Stay simple.”
