CommuniCast Myanmar, which is set to be held from 18-20 November, has chosen to move to a new larger venue in Yangon, offering a pillar-free hall of 6000m2.The transfer of the show provides the opportunity to both accommodate the growing number of exhibitors participating at the show and also host a range of associated industry events all on one level. The theme of the event is “Building Networks, Expanding Communities.”

The new venue is the Myanmar Event Park, which is located to the West central side of the City of Yangon and is owned by Forever Group, one of Myanmar’s leading companies. The facility is primarily licensed for use as a TV production studio but has recently received a licence to run commercial exhibitions.

In addition to the CommuniCast Myanmar exhibition the organisers are also running a series of conferences and seminars. The Myanmar Satellite Forum, to be held on the 19th November, is hosted jointly by talk Satellite and CommuniCast Myanmar; topics will range from Connecting the Digital Village to Cellular Backhaul Solutions. The Entrepreneur Institute of the planned Menander University Foundation will be running a series of mobile industry workshops covering topics from Delivering Advanced Mobile Technology and Mobile Money through to Mobile Apps.

The timing of the show is ideal to celebrate the launch of Myanmar’s new mobile networks and also provide a platform for the next phase of development in the country’s ICT industry, which is likely to form a spur to major growth. The Myanmar economy is expected to grow by 7.2% annually through to 2022, with the ICT industry a key catalyst in the country’s development.

CommuniCast Myanmar has the full support of the Ministry of Communications & Information Technology and has recently received the official endorsement of the Myanmar Computer Federation. The Federation is the umbrella organisation in Myanmar for all official ICT activities and includes the Myanmar Computer Professionals Association, the Myanmar Computer Industry Association and the Myanmar Computer Enthusiasts Association.

CommuniCast Myanmar is organised by Bangkok Exhibition Services Ltd, members of the Allworld Exhibition Alliance, whose sister shows include CommunicAsia and BroadcastAsia in Singapore.

"Plans are now coming together tremendously well for Communicast Myanmar," said Overseas Exhibition Services Ltd and Event Director, Rupert Owen. “The new venue enables us to expand our exhibition space and also to co-locate with other new events that are relevant to the industry. We are delighted with the expanded range of topics and participants we are able to offer visitors to the event.”

Details about the event can be found at www.communicastmyanmar.com. Allworld Exhibitions is one of the world's leading groups of exhibition organisers, specialising in Asia and the Middle East. Through its affiliated ASEAN offices nine industry business trade shows have been announced to be staged in Yangon in 2014.

Myanmar, formerly known as Burma, has a population of nearly 60 million people yet telephone penetration levels are among the lowest anywhere in the world. With mobile users thought to be at around 10% and internet and fixed line usage in the region of 2% - but with a Government target of 80% by 2016 - the market offers unequalled opportunities.

Further information on the event can be found at the CommuniCast Myanmar 2014 stand 1B4-03 in Hall 1 of CommunicAsia in Singapore this week.
