Bristol, United Kingdom, 11th June 2013 – DocCom, provider of the first cloud-based enterprise social networking platform exclusively for healthcare, today announces that it has been selected by the UK Government to offer its services within the Government’s latest cloud procurement framework, G-Cloud iii.
As a selected and approved supplier by the UK Government Procurement Service, DocCom will be listed in the government’s CloudStore ICT catalogue under Software As A Service (SaaS). The framework agreement allows DocCom to supply a range of cloud services to the UK public sector without complex procurement processes. The G-Cloud framework is aimed at encouraging and simplifying the adoption of cloud computing in the public sector.
In a time of cost reduction and streamlining, G-Cloud plays a crucial part in the government’s ICT strategy by providing a framework through which public sector bodies, such as NHS Trusts, can buy cloud services ‘off the shelf’. It enables the public sector to select from a wide range of assured products while creating a more open and competitive market place and achieving large, cross-government economies of scale. Moreover, the reduced procurement times and a simplified tendering process means organisations can buy at lower costs, without compromising either performance or security.

With customers enjoying secure and robust services, significantly reduced costs and delivery times, and transparent pricing on a genuine on-demand utility basis, purchases totalling worth more than £2.2 million have already been made through the CloudStore since it was established in February 2012 – 70% of which has been for services offered by SMEs.
