The IT Job Board's new Facebook group asks techies to 'Take the Great IT Challenge'

'Danny the Decoder' is a new Facebook group launched by online recruitment specialist The IT Job Board (www.theitjobboard.co.uk).  It is encouraging techies to 'Take the Great IT Challenge' to be in with a chance of being the best IT brain in the UK.  The winner will receive £250, with online and iTunes vouchers available for runners up.

The fictional Danny is a computer whiz who can break any computer code in the world.  He currently holds the title for the smartest IT brain in the UK, but is looking to hang up his crown.  However, before he does he needs a successor which he hopes to find with the help of Facebook and www.theitjobboard.co.uk.

The competition, which will run throughout the rest of September, will ask entrants eight IT questions on a range of subjects.  The final winner will be picked at random from all the correct responses.  Facebook members can join Danny the Decoder to take the challenge here: http://www.new.facebook.com/group.php?gid=22670162299&refurl=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.new.facebook.com%2Fs.php%3Fref%3Dsearch%26init%3Dq%26q%3Ddanny%2Bthe%2Bdecoder

Aarti Gohil, marketing and communications executive at www.theitjobboard.co.uk explains:  “Although www.theitjobboard.co.uk deals with the serious issue of work and careers, we wanted to balance that by offering IT professionals a fun way to engage with the brand.  It is also an opportunity to show off their knowledge and engage with like-minded people via a popular social network.”

www.theitjobboard.co.uk will invite people to join Danny the Decoder via an email campaign to its database of registered IT professionals.  It will also run targeted advertisements on Facebook and encourage members to tell their friends to encourage as many people as possible to take part.
