In networking, the amount of data that can be sent from one computer to another through a particular connection in a certain amount of time. The more bandwidth available, the faster you are able to access information. Bandwidth is typically measured in kbps (kilobits per second) or Mbps (megabits per second.) Dial-up internet access has typical bandwidth of 56 kbps; for DSL 300-500 kbps; cable modems 1.5Mbps; and business LAN connections have bandwidth ranges up to 30 Mbps.
