The blackboard may soon become a thing of the past as Western Cape schools start to swap them for whiteboards - a large interactive computer touch screen - in a bid to promote an interactive learning environment aimed at improving pupil results. On Wednesday Stephen Price, deputy principal at Bergvliet High School, urged teachers who attended a conference on the 21st century classroom at the school, to use technology to enhance teaching. With the latest technological developments in education, the face of traditional classrooms is changing, said Price. 'Pupils and teachers can draw diagrams' "There is no place for blackboards in schools anymore," said Price.
