All of this is enhanced and complemented by our unique engineering tools, automating and managing the entire packaging process lifecycle The Services Team has been providing packaging services to some of the largest organisations since inception of MSI standards and has developed a methodology founded on the experience of our team, management of risk and the assurance of a quality process. Packaging Engineer Analyses customer application management requirements to determine appropriate solutions. Designs, authors, tests, documents and debugs application packages based on system and customer requirements Principal Accountabilities Maintains packaging, QA and verification workflows, lessons learned logs and other centralised documentation Conducts mentoring and training Designs, authors, tests, documents and debugs application packages according to the customer's standards, policies and procedures. Creates application packaging test and development environments Defines corporate packaging standards and strategies Provides technical pre-sales presentations and general packaging consultancy Provides metrics and reports to customers and management Scope Packages applications as per customer requirements. Creates documentation on all packaging work. Complexity Follows standard practices and procedures. Duties and tasks are routine and standardized. Packages simple / medium complexity applications Manages work tasks based on input from senior packagers/team leads. Desired Profile Knowledge and Skills Basic understanding of Windows Installer concepts and packaging tools: Wise Package Studio/Install Shield/SoftGrid. Knows the fundamental concepts, practices and procedures related to application packaging.
