Today we are living in an ever-changing interconnected global community. Inventions such as the personal computer and the Internet have connected people in far away places in ways we could have never imagined. One unintended consequence of technology has been the equalization of workers across political boundaries. This connectivity enabled competitiveness on a global scale and has eliminated, in many cases, past obstacles created by political and geographic boundaries.
