Xavier Samuel Hall says he almost had to repeat fifth grade at Hillcrest Elementary School because he doesn’t read very well. He hopes those days are near an end. Xavier, 11, plans to improve his reading at a new computer lab that opened Friday in his neighborhood. He and many others in Burlington’s Woodrail Community housing project got their first chance to surf the Internet this week when the new computer lab opened. He was among the 40 children who attended a ceremony hosted by the Burlington Housing Authority marking the occasion. “I want to use the tech lab for fun, but also learning,” said Hall. “If you don’t know how to read, how can you do anything in life?” Read More..
