Users could upload video clips to the site, but they couldn’t download them--only view them momentarily through a browser. Now RealNetworks says it is trying to change those rules. The newest version of the company’s RealPlayer software will allow users to download streaming video clips and collect them on their hard drives--an option that will please users but may draw the ire of media companies.
