"More and more adults realize they need a degree to give them more employment opportunities," Empire State College President Joseph Moore said of the growing student population. He added that over seven years, the number of online students raised from 12,000 to 18,000 students, and the number of students in the distance learning program has risen 20 percent over the past year.
