At Wappingers Junior High School, teachers have been handing out remote controls. Using a software program similar to the TV quiz show "Jeopardy" called Edugame, seventh-grade teacher Chellie Milanese was able to input review questions on everything from prime factorization to surface area. Students pick team mascots, such as Globe Dude and Delicious Apple, and use the remote controls to buzz in and select the correct answer. The game is one way local teachers have used technology to help students prepare for state assessments in English language arts and math.
