There are many commercial services that provide fax to Internet gateways. These services allow you to send and receive faxes using an e-mail or web-based client. When sending, you can send an e-mail to a special e-mail address or use a web-based client to send the fax. The service then dials the fax number and converts the message to a standard fax that is sent to the fax machine. For receiving, the service provides you with a phone number that your clients can use to send the fax. Instead of receiving the fax at a machine, the service converts the fax into an e-mail message that is delivered to your inbox.
