Title: Online learning program catches on with students - Jenn Marshall, The Nanaimo Post by: Mark David on April 20, 2007, 07:25:53 PM A flood of student interest in a new online learning program offered this year by Nanaimo school district is proving Internet learning is the wave of the future. “It kind of was a trickle effect,” said Patrick Young, program coordinator for Learn at Home 8-12. Interest grew quickly in the program, and the program went from zero users in the beginning to 850 registered courses. He said the program has about 30 full-time students and the other students are cross-enrolled, taking courses in regular classrooms as well as distance education.
