Geeks in need of continuing education credit have a new resource: the O'Reilly School of Technology. The online-only course offerings cover programming, Unix, and web development, and can help coders in need of some résumé-buffing do so from the comfort of their favorite browser. The school was launched this week, but it's not a new initiative. The University of Illinois actually launched and ran the precursor to the site, which was called the "IT Learning Sandbox" when it began in 1997. The company that ran the program eventually expanded it to include 17 different IT courses.
