In September local students will get an opportunity to turn in their Advanced Placement U.S. History homework from their home computer at midnight, or finish up those last few classes needed for a diploma after dropping out of school and starting work. Monday night the Baraboo School Board voted unanimously to become a partner in the Wisconsin eSchool Network, a new consortium of eight districts — and growing — who share teachers and curriculum for online courses. This fall students who live in the district — whether they're current students, home-school students or residents up to age 21 who never finished their degrees — can enroll in one of the nearly 75 online courses offered through eSchool. Next year students from other districts will be able to open enroll in Baraboo to take classes online.
