Piles of boxes containing new textbooks, custodial carts full of floor wax, and stacks of overturned desks filled the otherwise vacant halls of the Springs School on a sweltering afternoon this week, where a turn down a corridor toward Billy Hallman’s computer lab revealed a small pocket of activity. A dozen teachers hovered over computer terminals, as Mr. Hallman, the elementary-level computer teacher and resident computer expert, moved between them.
