Many of the state's online schools celebrated students' gains - from the incremental to the impressive - on the 2007 CSAP. Still, data show that in many of the cyberschools, the percentage of students scoring either "proficient" or "advanced" on the three tests continues to lag behind the state. At Hope Co-Op Online Learning Academy, the state's largest online school, with more than 3,000 students, for example, fourth-, ninth- and 10th-graders saw gains in reading, math and writing on the 2007 CSAP. Tenth-graders at the fledgling online school saw the sharpest gains in reading, going from just 20 percent proficient on the 2006 CSAP to 34 percent proficient this year.
