U.S. high schools are obsolete, but North Dakota can reverse that trend by integrating technology into classrooms and shaking up teaching styles, a local businessman said Monday.... “How do you change it so it becomes relevant?” The query comes as Oak Grove prepares to start the school year by arming students with new portable tablet computers. The initiative equips each of the private school’s 189 ninth-through 12th-graders with laptops to use in and outside the classroom. Oak Grove teachers returned to school this week to learn how to use the technology. Deborah Lowther, an author and a professor at the University of Memphis in Tennessee, will discuss technology teaching strategies with faculty. Read More..
