As promised earlier , Microsoft's Mac Business Unit (Mac BU) released the Universal Application beta version of its Remote Desktop Connection (RDC) client for Mac OS X, version 2.0. "Built from the ground up, the RDC for Mac 2.0 beta allows users to remotely connect to computers running Microsoft Windows Vista. It features a redesigned UI, fully customizable preferences, and multiple sessions support," according to Microsoft. The Mac BU simultaneously announced an update to its standalone Open XML File Format Converter that includes improvements for converting Word (.docx) files and new support for converting PowerPoint (.pptx) files.
