Boxee is a great choice for those in the market for a free video and movie service, as it pulls content from many different sources, whilst maintaining an easy to use interface. Today, Boxee has just launched a new publicly available beta, bringing many long awaited improvements to its software. As TechCrunch reported, the new beta brings an entirely new interface, with overhauled features and navigation. In addition to that, Boxee has switched from OpenGL to DirectX, adding to the fact that there is now support for hardware-accelerated video decoding on Windows. You can now choose to filter shows by season, and share favorites with friends using new social features embedded into the software.
