Title: Windows Mobile at TechEd 2009 Post by: Tanya on May 15, 2009, 10:35:50 AM Windows Mobile at TechEd 2009
TechEd 2009 already gave us details on Windows 7 and Office 2010 this week, and now it's Windows Mobile 6.5's turn. After the first day of the conference, a panel was put together and asked to talk about developing applications for Windows Mobile 6.5. The panel also took the time to discuss widgets (applications that have a .widget extension, and consist of zipped HTML, JavaScript, and graphics files). Windows Mobile 6.5 will have a widget engine that will handle applications built from HTML and JavaScript. The idea is to make it easy for creation of small applications that can run simple web services. Widgets will be served exclusively from Windows Marketplace for Mobile (no sideloading).
