It will also rate your connection for:

    * Download: The speed at which your Internet connection downloads data to your PC from the Internet.
    * Upload: The speed at which your Internet connection uploads data from your PC out to the Internet.
    * Quality of Service: The level of consistent download capacity provided by your Internet Service Provider (ISP).
    * Round Trip Time: The total time in milliseconds (ms) to send a small data packet and obtain a reply back.
    * Max Pause: The longest pause recorded during the data download.

Dr. Mercola's Comment:Before you know it most of us are going to be in the top range of the speeds this little tool can measure. Radical breakthroughs in wireless Internet technology, such as WiMax, are soon going to take the lid off of Internet speeds.

The keyto WiMaxis that it can transmit up to 30 miles. The greater range and higher bandwidth gives service providers the ability to offer broadband Internet access directly to homes, without having to worry about the problems that can arise when laying down a physical connection over the so-called last mile, which connects homes with service providers' main networks.
