Eligibility Criteria : (as on 01/01/2008)
a) Educational Qualifications:
General Candidates and others - 60% marks in class XII and 55% marks in Graduation or Post - Graduation. SC/ST/PWD Candidates - 55% marks in class XII and 50% marks in Graduation or Post-Graduation. Computer Literacy - Proficiency in computer (Certificate from a reputed Institute or having computer as a subject in class XII or Graduation).
b) Age Limit:
Not below 21 years and not above 30 years as on 01/01/2008
HOW TO APPLY:
Candidates should obtain an application kit from identified branches of State Bank of India listed below which will be sold from 08/01/2008 to 16/02/2008 :
Application kit will contain :
i) Scannable Application Form
ii) Pre-addressed envelope in which the application form should be sent by the candidates after affixing postage
iii) Details of information regarding filling in the scannable Application form and also instructions regarding written examination
iv) Big envelope in which all the above documents will be kept
GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS :
a) Candidates submitting more than one application for any reason will be treated as ineligible.
b) If more than one application are sent in one envelope, all these applications will be rejected.
c) Candidates must ensure that their signature on application, photographs and call letter etc. are identical, Candidate, in addition to his/her signature has to affix his/her thumb impression in the space provided for at the bottom of the application form. A recent passport size photograph should be pasted (not stapled) on application and six copies of the same photograph should be retained for use at the time of Group Discussion/interview. In the event of any discrepancy, the candidates shall not be allowed to appear for written examinations/ interview.
d) General Category candidates who have already appeared for written examination for recruitment of Probationary Officers in SBI on three occasions in the past are not eligible to apply. This restriction is not applicable to candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC/PWD Category communities, provided they are otherwise eligible. Three chances are counted only if the candidate appears for written examination.
e) Candidates belonging to OBC category but coming in the 'CREAMY LAYER', hence not entitled to OBC reservation and age relaxation should indicate their category as 'GEN' or 'GEN (OH)' or 'GEN (VH)' (as applicable).
f) Only those candidates who are willing to serve anywhere in India, including rural areas, need apply.
g) All candidates (including SC/ST/OBC/OH/VH) will have to appear for the Written Examinations at their own cost.
h) Incomplete or defective applications will be summarily rejected. Decision of the Bank in all matters regarding eligibility, conduct of examination, interview and selection would be final and binding on all candidates. No correspondence whatsoever would be entertained by the Bank in this regard.
i) The candidates must ensure that they fulfil all the eligibility criteria and that the particulars furnished by them in the application are correct in all respects. Mere admission to the Written Examinations, Group Discussion and Interview. for a candidate does not imply that the bank has been satisfied beyond doubt about the candidate's eligibility. In case it is detected at any stage that a candidate does not fulfil any of the eligibility criteria, and/or that he/she has furnished any incorrect information or has suppressed any material fact(s), his/her candidature will stand cancelled. If any of these shortcoming(s) is/are detected even after appointment, his/her services will be summarily terminated.
j) No certificates need be submitted with the application form. Candidates, who qualify for Group Discussion and Interview, will have to produce original certificates relating to their educational qualifications, age proof, reserved category status, PWD etc.
k) Appointment of selected candidates is subject to his/her being declared medically fit by Medical Officer(s) appointed/approved by the Bank.
l) The Bank takes no responsibility for any delay in receipt or loss in postal transit of any application or communication. The Bank also takes no responsibility to connect any certificate sent separately.
m)As the applications are to be processed by a Computerised System, it is essential that the application is strictly in accordance with the prescribed format and is properly & completely filled and contains no corrections/alterations/over writing.
n) Please mention your E-mail address clearly in the application form/ Future communications for faster response.
o) CANVASSING IN ANY FORM WILL BE A DISQUALIFICATION.
