Candidates scoring only 60% and above marks (For SC/ST Candidates- minimum 50%) in the qualifying examination are eligible to apply. Candidates possessing Engineering / Technology Degrees in Core Disciplines (Civil, Chemical, Electrical, Instrumentation and Mechanical) ONLY would be considered. Those candidates who will be appearing for their Final Year Examination by July, 2008 and awaiting their results can also apply.
On the date of application, Candidates must have minimum 60% marks (For SC/ST - minimum 50%) in aggregate till the last semester to be eligible to apply. However, their eligibility for the selection will be subject to their obtaining 60 % & above marks ( for SC/ST-minimum 50 % ) in aggregate in qualifying degree.
Number of vacancies may increase/decrease at the discretion of the Corporation.

HOW TO APPLY :
Apply online only on
www.hindustanpetroleum.com .Online submission of the application will be allowed on the website up to 19th January, 2008. Only online application and no other mean/mode of the application shall be accepted.
Steps For Applying
STEP 1 : Login to
www.hindustanpetroleum.com and click on Careers.
STEP 2 :Read all the instructions given on the website.
STEP 3 : General and OBC candidates are required to send a crossed Demand Draft for Rs.500/- as Application Fee drawn on “HINDUSTAN PETROLEUM CORPORATION LIMITED” payable at Mumbai. Candidates must write their name, Position, discipline and application no. on the reverse of Demand Draft. MO/IPO or any other mode of payment will not be accepted. Applications of General and OBC candidates without Demand Draft will not be considered
STEP 4 :Fill in the online form with all the relevant details. Candidates giving their Final year Examination by July, 2008 have to tick in the box provided for the purpose.
STEP 5 : Click SUBMIT. Take a print of the application form and affix passport size photograph and sign the form in the space provided for the same.
STEP 6 : Attach the DD and send the same by ordinary post to the Senior Manager – Recruitment & Manpower Planning, Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited, Post Box No. 11402, Marine Lines Post Office, Mumbai - 400020, to reach on or before 23rd January, 2008..SC/ST/PWD candidates should only send the application form as DD is not applicable.
Please superscribe on the envelope“APPLICATION FOR THE POST OF TRAINEES – Engineering / HR”.
For e.g., “Application for the POST of Officer Trainee- Human Resources”.
Candidate should take special care, NOT to staple the Demand Draft. They should use u-pins or steel pins for fastening all documents / demand drafts. (Please retain a copy of the application form with unique application no. and also a copy of the demand draft for future reference). Only original application form (no photocopy) shall be accepted. The candidates whose application forms along with DD is received after due date shall not be considered and the DD will be returned duly.
Application form received with a single Demand Draft containing the application fees of two or more candidates or photocopies of Demand Drafts attached with the application form will not be considered.
STEP 7 :Various intimations, schedules/dates can be accessed through HPCL website, Helpline, SMS etc. Please mention correct and active e-mail ID for various communications.
Call letter for written test along with specimen questions shall be sent by post to the candidate’s mailing address. An admit card which is sent to the candidate along with the call letter has to be duly signed by the candidate and photograph affixed, and has to be produced at the time of written test.
HPCL will not be responsible for any loss of email/admit card sent, due to invalid/wrong email id/wrong postal address/postal delays/loss in transit etc.
