Applications are invited for the post of Telecom. Technical Assistant (TTA)

Number of vacancies to be filled up in the Secondary Switching Areas (SSAs) of Assam Telecom. Circle are as under :
[3% vacancies (SSA wise) are reserved for physically handicapped candidates and 10% vacancies (SSA wise) are reserved for Ex-servicemen candidates, which will be adjusted with the category to which physically handicapped/Ex-servicemen belong]

In respect of physically handicapped persons, candidates with following physical disabilities will be permitted:

i) Hearing Impairment: Partially Deaf (PD) 1.5%
ii) Locomotive Impairment: One Lag (OL) or Both Lag (BL), Limited exercise
to tolerance-early (FT) 1.5%
iii) Visual: NIL
Eligibility :
Age : Candidates must be between 18 and 27 years as on 30.09.2007 i.e. last date of receipt of application. Upper age limit is relaxable by 5 years for SC/ST and 3 years for OBC candidates. In case of departmental candidates (employees working in BSNL only) the upper age limit is relaxable upto 40 years in respect of general candidates, upto 45 years in respect of SC/ST candidates and upto 43 years for OBC candidates as per Rules. Ex-servicemen are eligible for relaxation in age limit as per Rule.

Qualification: A candidate must have obtained Three Year Diploma in Engineering in any of the following disciplines : Telecommunications Engineering/ Electronics Engineering/ Electrical Engineering/ Radio Engineering/ Computer Engineering/ M.Sc (electronics)/ Instrumentation Technology with a minimum of 50% marks from a recognized Institution/University.Selection: Candidates will be selected as TTA on the basis of a written competitive examination and followed by medical examination. There shall be three written (objective type) papers (Paper-I, Paper-II and Paper-III) as per details below:

a) Three identical passport size photographs out of which two should be pasted (not stapled or pinned) in the spaces specified one at the top and the other at the bottom of the application form duly attested. The third copy of the photograph be attached to the application (not to be pasted or attested)
b) Bank Draft for Rs. 500/- (Not required for SC/ST/PH candidates)
c) Attested copy of Matriculation & Higher Secondary Pass Certificate.
d) Attested copy Diploma Pass Certificate/ Marksheet.
e) Attested copy of Employment Exchange Registration Card, if any.
f) Attested copy of Caste certificate in respect of SC/ST/OBC candidate.
g) Discharge certificate in respect of Ex-servicemen
h) Attested copy of medical certificate in case physically handicapped.
i) Age proof certificate (Admit Card/ Matriculation Pass Certificate issued by Board/ University)
j) Two self addressed unstamped envelopes of 27 x 12 cms
