New monthly IBE Digital Edition to reach 120,000 industry contacts

ConnectedWorld.TV appoints Monica Heck as new Editor

IBE Print Edition moves to quarterly to support shows including IBC, NAB, CES and MWC

London, United Kingdom, June 25th, 2013 - BPL Broadcast, the publisher for IBE (International Broadcast Engineer) brand has made several editorial changes as part of an on-going strategy to grow and evolve its publishing model and IBE brand which is 50 year’s old next year.

On 1st of August, IBE will launch its first monthly Digital Edition. The new edition is formatted for tablets, mobile devices and e-readers and will be distributed to 120,000 global industry contacts. The new digital edition offers a mix of news analysis, features and expert opinion with a particular focus on “Connected Technologies” from across the world of broadcast.

IBE Print Edition will grow in page count and move to a quarterly format centred on broadcast and related industry trade shows with the usual mix of long form content. Both the digital and print edition will be supported by a weekly e-case and daily news from the www.IBEConnects.com website which also includes technical whitepapers, detailed case studies and video content.

The new look IBE quarterly print publication will launch in September to coincide with the Connected World at IBC, a signature destination event which focuses on the connected consumer experience. The  Connected World is for the broadcasters, tech teams, app developers and content companies, providing a dedicated exhibition showcase, speaker theatre and network lounge to highlight the technologies and devices which are responding to the massive power shift driven by the consumer.

BPL Broadcast has also made changes at www.ConnectedWorld.TV, a content portal offering news from across the connected world of broadcasting in support of Connected World events. As part of a strategy to further integrate all BPL Broadcast brands and better support “Connected” events, Monica Heck will take over from previous Editor Joe O’Halloran who will carry on as a feature contributor for IBE Magazine and supplements. All press releases and editorial opportunities for Connected World should be sent to [email protected].

ConnectedWorld.TV will also evolve onto an integrated platform alongside IBEconnects.com with an enhanced range of content to support exhibitors and attendees of ConnectedWorld at IBC, ConnectedMediaWorld at NAB and other shows where BPL Broadcast participates. The new look ConnectedWorld.TV website will launch ahead of IBC and will include client portal pages complete with video, news and feature content.

“The new publication structure better reflects the diverse needs of our readership with more content delivered across a wider range of formats,” says Saleha Williams, Vice President of BPL Broadcast, “The last few months have been a whirlwind for us as we evolve our products to better match the audience and the new structure provides us with a solid foundation to grow our publications and support our event portfolio.” As part of a process to unify the key elements of the BPL portfolio, IBE magazine and IBE Website will reside within the “IBE Connects” brand.

IBE is also sponsoring the Connected World Awards which celebrates the exciting developments in television and video at the intersection of broadcast and the internet. The awards honour creative broadcasters as well as innovative technology companies and consumer electronics manufacturers. The awards are open for submissions and more information can be found at www.connectedworldawards.tv
